Homelessness Australia does not provide or manage accommodation or perform direct client services.

There are various services available for people at risk or, or experiencing, homelessness, in all areas of Australia. State, Territory and local Governments, as well as many community sector organisations, operate telephone services which are a good first point of information and referral. Domestic and Family Violence - National

Australian Capital Territory

OneLink is the central information/access point for human services for the ACT including homelessness, disability and family support services. OneLink replaced First point and the Child Youth and Family Gateway on 1 July 2016 and is operated by Woden Community Service.

People who are homeless or who require information or access to human services can call 1800 176 468 free of charge. People are also welcome to drop in and meet with OneLink staff, located at Housing ACT, corner of Emu Bank and Benjamin Way Belconnen.

New South Wales

Domestic Violence Helpline Anyone experiencing domestic violence, anywhere in NSW, can call the Domestic Violence Help Line toll free. The Domestic Violence Help Line can arrange emergency accommodation and negotiate with other government departments, such as Health or Housing, to find additional support services for people who need them due to domestic violence.

Link2Home provides information, conducts assessments, as well as makes referrals to homelessness services across NSW.
Link2home is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year on 1800 152 152.

The service is for people who are homeless or who are worried they will become homeless, as well as for advocates acting on a person's behalf.



Opening Doors 24-hour statewide toll free number on 1800 825 955 to speak with a housing and support worker. The 1800 number will direct your call to a service closest to you, or if the call is outside business hours, it will be directed to Salvation Army Crisis Services.

Domestic Violence Telephone Service
Provides support, information, advocacy, telephone counselling, referrals and importantly, the statewide coordination of emergency refuge and shelter placements across Queensland.

This is a phone information and referral service for people who are experiencing homelessness.

Women's Domestic Violence Helpline
Telephone support and counselling for women experiencing family and domestic violence.  Can help you if you want to find a refuge or a safe place to stay or if you just need to talk to someone who will understand how the abuse affects you and your children.
